Ahead of the day, just a few reminders and requests

Coaches & Team Managers

As per SE guidance, please ensure that all poolside staff have a SE poolside accredited pass. (Instruction on how attached). With at least one member of the team to be Level 2. Checks will be made on the day, so please let me know if you have any queries.

Photography Policy for weekend

As some of you be aware Bath has a strict policy of individuals agreeing to their Photography & Filming Policy before being able to take any photos or film at the pool. This normally involves all spectators individually signing an agreement and being given a sticker to put on their camera/phone, with an event of our size this a time-consuming process.

Bath have agreed THEY WILL ALLOW SPECTATORS TO TAKE PHOTOS ONLY – NO FILMING IS ALLOWED. This can only happen if we send out the policy to all clubs and they send to all attending before the event. The coach attending on the day will then sign to say that their club has done so and that they will adhere to the policy on their behalf. Attached is a copy of the policy for you to send out.

Mobile Phones

NO MOBILE PHONES OR DIGITAL DEVICES ARE TO BE TAKEN INTO CHANGING ROOMS AT COUNTY COMPETITIONS. Please ensure as a club that this is passed onto swimmers ahead of the meet.

Backstroke takeovers

The Referees have agreed to one hand being in contact with the wall or the starting block handles for the backstroke relay takeovers. Coaches on lane end must ensure they monitor the incoming and outgoing swimmers to minimise the risk of collision. They will need to take responsibility if injuries are incurred.

Volunteers

As we all know these events are run purely by volunteers and wouldn’t run without them.

To help with running the event there are a few jobs that are required on the day.

Door – for each gala we require 2 people to be on the door to take spectator payment (cash free). The table will be set up so you will be able to see your child swim (so you will not miss out).

Teams – Marlborough, Calne, Corsham, Devizes, Melksham, Royal Wootton Bassett, Westbury, Malmesbury.

Gala 2

Warm Up 14.00

Start 14.30

Teams – Swindon Dolphin, Tigersharks, Marlborough, Swindon, Warminster, Bradford-on-Avon, Chippenham, Salisbury, Trowbridge

Changing Rooms

All changing rooms will be available however, it is suggested swimmers come poolside ready with a change of footwear for poolside, to help with room in the changing rooms.

Spectators

£5.00 per person per gala

Children (under 16)free

Payment – CARD PAYMENT ONLY (there will be no cash payments)
