The workshops will include seminars and 1:1 advice opportunities in areas such as;

The workshops will run on the following dates across the year:
13th March 2013 – 6pm-9pm – Salisbury & South Wilts Sports Club, Salisbury
19th June 2013 – 6pm-9pm – The Civic Centre, Trowbridge
17th October 2013 – 6pm-9pm – Abbeyfield School, Chippenham


Places cost just £5 per person per workshop, and if you bring a 3rd person, they come for free!

The Chairman will provide strong leadership and direction to the Regional Management Board . . . → Read More: Post for Regional Chair]]> Applications are invited from suitably experienced individuals interested in taking the strategic role of Chairman of the Regional Management Board for the ASA South West Region. This is a voluntary role for a four-year period, possibly renewable for a further 4 years.

The Chairman will provide strong leadership and direction to the Regional Management Board to support and develop all levels and disciplines of the sport of swimming in the South West of England.

The successful applicant must demonstrate proven leadership and management skills and a wide knowledge of swimming at all levels.  Understanding and experience of modern business practice is desirable.

Applicants should consider both the job description and person specification when applying for the role.

At the Team meeting on the morning of 21 October the County President Mrs Andrea Christmas (Swindon . . . → Read More: Wilts County Team at the National Competition Ponds Forge]]> The Wiltshire Team consisting of twenty six swimmers, traveled from Wroughton on the 20 October for an overnight stay in Sheffield prior to taking part in the National County Team Championships at Ponds Forge, Sheffield the following day.

At the Team meeting on the morning of 21 October the County President Mrs Andrea Christmas (Swindon ASC) presented the following swimmers Chloe Davies, Paige Fellows, Lisa Cowley, Rebecca Cook, Abigail Davidson, Michael Dorsman, Conor Keye, Sean Purvis, Craig Harris, James Watson, Jake Hancock & Patrick Seed with their first time badges and Tom Howitt with his five swim ribbon.

The parade of County Banners took place in front of a huge crowd and the County Presidents.

Team captains, Tom Howitt and Melissa Birkett were the Counties representatives on this occasion.

Wiltshire County were competing in division two along with eighteen other counties and areas in England, Scotland and Wales. The thirty one events consists of 100m events for each age group and 50m Medley Relay teams with an 6 x 50m FC canon relay to finish. The Wiltshire team put up some fantastic swimming with 2^nd place swims for Daniella Whiting and James Clark in the Breaststroke and Conor Keye and Chloe Davies 3^rd places in the Breaststroke and Backstroke events. 90% of swims were either PB’s or just on PB’s and all the relay teams posted times faster than their entry swims.

The Team atmosphere was fabulous with Team managers Louise Clayton and Daniel Crowley doing a great job ensuring the swimmers were supporting each other and swimming well. Team Coaches Lesley Leffers and Andrew Higgins were very happy with how hard the swimmers were trying felt they deserved to finish one place higher this year. The Team Managers and swimmers were fortunate to be supported by Bo & Dick Evans and County Secretary Julia Airlie. Our County Officials this year were Bea Esdaile and Paul Boniface who were selected to represent Wiltshire following their work within the County this year.

Although the final results saw the team finish 10th the gala had produced many personal best times and the whole team thoroughly enjoyed their weekend together.
