Keith Chapman

It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Keith Chapman, President of Wilts County ASA in 1986 and Club Coach of Malmesbury Marlins on Monday 28 December 2020.

Our deepest sympathies and thoughts are with Keith’s family at this time.

The following obituary has been passed to us by Keith’s Family:

Keith was President of the Wilts County ASA and considered it a great honour, presenting prizes to the likes of Olympic swimmer Mark Foster among others during his tenure. He was a swimming coach from the early 1970s, joining the newly reformed Malmesbury Marlins and teaching hundreds of young people to swim both for leisure and competitively. A demanding and dynamic coach, he took great pride in encouraging swimmers to reach their full potential in both the gym and in the pool. He was instrumental in establishing the Marlins as a competitive swimming club. Not only did he coach the Malmesbury he also regularly coached on the ASA Easter course, shaping the talents of Wiltshire’s swimmers, including both of his children. He loved the club and the ASA and will be sadly missed by the many people that knew him.

Due to the current COVID-19 situation it is not possible to publish details of the funeral arrangement.

Keith raised lots of money for Wiltshire Air Ambulance over the years and therefore would like any donations to be made to Wiltshire Air Ambulance in his memory.
