It is with regret that we have to inform you of the death of Roy Ellis, who was President of Wilts ASA in 1993 and also a Life member of the Association.
\nRoy came into swimming when his children joined Trowbridge ASC and he was Competition Secretary for many years.<\/p>\n
He was a qualified official and for many years was one of the key lead Referees at County events.<\/p>\n
He also took on the role of Treasurer of the Easter Course Committee and when we reorganised the leagues in 2000 and had both a Summer and Winter League Secretary, he was Treasurer.
\nThe three of them acting as a League Management Committee.
\nFrom 2002 until 2008 Roy was President of Wroughton ASC, also working as a Coach on oversea training camps.
\nA really genuine individual who would do anything for the swimmers, always with a smile and a joke.<\/p>\n
He will be sadly missed, and our thoughts are with Diane, his wife, his children Claire and Paul and his grandchildren.
\nThe funeral will be at the West Wilts Crematorium, Devizes Road, Semington, Trowbridge BA14 6HL on
