Pewsey & Tidworth Club are facing huge problems as a club, due to military postings have lost 6 instructors over the past 18 months. In the past they have always managed to recruit new instructors as the new regiments move in- but alas it now seems the army personnel are too stretched to spare any time. Despite extensive recruitment efforts, they have been unable to replace them. Thet have tried all the usual avenues, posters, writing to commanders within the Garrison area, local newsletter adds etc. and are even resorting to a radio interview next week…. They desperately need some more volunteer instructors or face cutting back sessions, and in the worst case having to close the club down- which would be a tragedy.
To this effect they have called an Extraordinary meeting of the club for next Monday to inform parents of the situation – in the hopes of galvanising them into some kind of helpful action!
Perhaps there are newly qualified teachers who could do with some extra hours in their log books, or someone recently retired who could spare an hour or so either Monday or Thursday 7-8pm (Wilts term-time only). If there are any they would be most grateful.
